I'm officially at a new school now, no longer at the old UW-Green Bay! I'm off to a new start at Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, WI. Where I will be double majoring in Apparel Design (woo!) and Communications (also woo!) My first class in the fashion department is call Fashion Experience, where will will learn the basics to design, pattern-making and construction.
I've got to say, being in the Fashion Experience class is so intimidating! There is a girl who has her own jewelry line and has been a stylist on the Warped Tour! How could you NOT be intimidated? And to make it even better, for out first project, I was put with this girl in question! I know I should be thankful, and I could learn a lot from her, and she really is a very wonderful and nice person, but I'm just so darn intimidated that I just want HER to do it, and me just to be in the background.
I'm fighting this urge, because that is EXACTLY why I changed schools in the first place. I wanted a fresh start to try and assert myself more and be more confident with some fresh people. I'm working on it! So hopefully I'll be able to get past this lull.
But towards more fashion news:
Another one of our assignments is to research a designer. And I got the ever wonderful Givenchy! I hope that I do not need to tell anyone how he contributed to fashion.... Audrey Hepburn...
So I thought that I would give Givenchy and Audrey the honor of being the theme for this post.
PS! Net-A-Porter is having a $40,000 dollar giveaway in honor of their MILLIONTH giveaway!! Click here RIGHT NOW to go sign up for it! Well, actually DON'T sign up for it, so I can win!
So once again, Audrey Hepburn, Givenchy, and now Net-A-Porter will be honorary subjects of this post. Here are some amazing Givenchy inspired (I think) pieces from Net-A-Porter!
